Living Realm
Settlements, factions, and history continue across characters.
A dark pixel-fantasy realm in development
Realms Unwritten is a living-world RPG where settlements grow, factions clash, characters earn renown, and history keeps moving long after one life ends.
The core idea
You are not the chosen one by default. You are a person born into a realm with towns, factions, politics, danger, and opportunity. Your choices can change the world, but the world can also change without you.
Game direction
Settlements, factions, and history continue across characters.
Skills improve through use, traits emerge through events, and renown reflects reputation.
Terrain generation aims for believable worlds with clustered mountains, towns, and regions.
One character can rise, fail, die, or reshape the realm for whoever comes next.
Build status
Realms Unwritten currently has the start of a world generator, basic character creation, towns, settlements, and faction concepts. Combat, time passing, death, and enemy systems are still planned work.
Roadmap
Movement, world map polish, character identity, and basic interaction loops.
Time passing, settlement changes, faction behavior, death, and persistence.
Enemies, combat, events, quests, reputation, and emergent world history.
Devlog starter
The project has moved from “just an idea” into prototype territory. The current focus is building enough core systems to make the world feel playable, not just visible.
Current milestone
The next big win is making the generated world matter to the player: movement, character identity, and first-pass systems that make every new life feel different.
